Italian rider thrilled to take top seven at Imola

Christian Gamarino (BARDAHL EVAN BROS. Honda Racing) was able to secure a solid result at his home round throughout the Motul Italian Round, which the Italian was happy with following a tough day in the World Supersport Championship.

Currently sitting in the top ten in the championship standings, Gamarino is on a consistent run of top nine results following a slow start to the season so far. Starting the Imola race from the front row following a stunning Superpole performance, the 22 year old was happy with his top seven result despite struggling with his tyres.

Gamarino explains: “I am happy, it was a difficult day today with a lot of red flags and a lot of restarts, but today it was important to finish the race, so 7th is a good result. We didn’t have new tyres for the restart but it wasn’t too bad. The heat was hard but if we had new tyres we could make a little step, but we work a lot so we continue in this way. It was beautiful riding in front of my home fans and I have many people here to support me, and it is beautiful for the sponsor for the team, so I love it.”

Following a strong result weekend at his home round, Gamarino now heads to the UK Round in hope he can continue this pace onboard his Honda machine.
