Almeria plays host winter testing for Pedercini Racing

Pedercini Racing SC-Project continue the positive theme of winter testing within the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship series, as they leave Almeria with a good feeling ahead of the opening round in Australia.

Starting from zero and building the bike up, team manager Lucio Pedercini hailed the success of the two days in Spain as weather conditions played as an advantage, securing some solid track time. With new recruit Alex De Angelis making his team debut on a track he is not fully familiar with, the San Marinese was able to make some constructive steps forward as he looks ahead to the season.

De Angelis explains: “Today the day started with a surprise, to test around a new circuit so it was an unknown for me but a more technical circuit, and we are performing so it’s even better. The weather was perfect and we were able to do at least fifty laps; plus they let us ride the circuit alone for the last two hours, which helped to grow my confidence on the bike. The feeling is getting better, and the timing is decreasing without even having to work hard. If we can continue like this in Jerez I will be very satisfied.”

Not only was the WorldSBK machine out on track, but the team also got the chance to test out the European Superstock 1000 machine with Jeremy Guarnoni in the saddle.

Taking away positive upgrades, the Frenchman explains: “It has been a positive test, I’m happy because we had two warm days that allowed us to work on the bike more. Timings are good so far, we tried different assets and some upgrades which promise really good results. Now we head to Jerez where we can test more data and knowledge; we know the circuit and we can see if the modifications we have made will work properly.”
