Ducati rider hopes to find more for the Italian round

Chaz Davies (Aruba.it Racing - Ducati) made up for a tough race one as he secured a podium finish at the Acerbis Dutch Round, fighting through from tenth on the grid to get that taste of Prosecco for the first time over the weekend.

Getting a stunning start off the line under sunny Dutch skies, the Welshman was fighting up for the podium spots early on, but was unable to bridge the gap to the leaders as the race went on. With a possible fight with home hero Michael van dear Mark (Pata Yamaha Official WorldSBK Team) on the cards, the Dutchman was unable to catch Davies and he rode a lonely race for third position.

Struggling with front end feeling aboard his Panigale R machine, Davies looks ahead to Imola - his teams home round - where he will hope to have a consistent weekend in front of the Italian fans.

Admitting it was a hard weekend, he reviews the race: "It was tough, but it was fun coming through. I was unable to get the feeling from the bike that I wanted, it wasn't as good as yesterday so perhaps we didn't go the right way with the set up. We really struggled with the feeling at the front, so it felt like I was walking on egg shells for the last ten laps, and we didn't have anything to fight with the Kawasaki pair. I could feel the heat from the Dutch fans with having Michael behind me, I was expecting a move every second and I was looking forward to a battle."
