British rider takes top ten finish despite encountering issues

Leon Camier (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) continues with his tough start to his 2017 season, as set-up problems plague the British rider, who feels he needs luck on his side as the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship heads deeper into the season.

Camier takes away two top 11 finishes from Pirelli Aragon Round but he admits that compared the second round in Thailand, he was unable to find any luck with his set-up, as well as continuing to be plagued by mechanical issues on Friday.

Despite his struggle throughout the weekend, Camier was still confident and pleased with his race result: “I felt we put in a good race, I was riding the hardest and I felt like we made the most from what we’ve got. Some weekends you’re lucky, in Thailand we missed most of the weekend but we managed to come up with a set-up pretty fast, and the bike was working fast and I managed to put in a good performance apart from a problems. Here we weren’t so lucky and we weren’t able to get a good set up straight away. We were left in the dark a bit in the race and we didn’t get the setting right, I felt we put in a good race but the set up wasn’t good enough to fight the front group. The group I was with was just in front but I couldn’t fight up with them as I wanted.”

Camier will be testing new set-ups on his Italian machine in Monday’s official test, before preparing for the second European round of the season at the legendary TT Assen circuit, in three weeks time.
