Reigning British Supersport Champion back on the WorldSSP grid

After a parting of ways with his previous team, British rider Luke Stapleford will contest the rest of the WorldSSP season, beginning at the next Round: #DutchWorldSBK. The reigning British national champion will be back on the grid with the Profile Racing Team with whom he won the national crown, meaning WorldSSP welcomes new manufacturer Triumph to the mix. After being granted the grid slot, crew chief and technician Tristan Palmer, who helped Luke in his bid to winning the Championship last year, will also be back on board.

The team will have to make some changes to the Triumph 675 in order to meet the World Supersport regulations, but are confident will make some good progress and Luke will be able to demonstrate his form from 2015.

"It has been a tough start to the year in the World Supersport class but hopefully we will now have a bit more normality within the team we can move forwards at each round,” added Luke Staplford ahead of his return to the grid at Assen. “I am looking forward to racing my old bike and having a great team and fantastic support around me. I can't thank my sponsors enough and the help we have been given to make this happen it is very much appreciated."

“We are lucky to be in this position and with help from Dorna we are able to continue in the World Championship for the remainder of the season,” said Pete Stapleford, Team Owner. “We are working extremely hard on the bike to bring it in-line with all World Supersport rules. It is a refreshing feeling knowing we have a very capable and professional team around us that all work well together. We have the right people involved and we hope to go into each round feeling positive with a view of securing some strong results on the world stage."

#DutchWorldSBK gets underway on the 15th of April as the WorldSBK paddock heads north to the Netherlands to take on the TT Circuit Assen.
