The Dutchman continues on in STK1000

Agro On-Benjan-Kawasaki and Wayne Tessels are set to join forces for the 2017 European Superstock 1000 Championship. Tessels scored his season best seventh place finish at his home race in Assen as well as points scored at Donington, Lausitzring and Jerez. With a lot of potential to tap into, the Kawasaki team and the Dutchman are feeling confident ahead of the new season, their goal being regular top 5 scorers. Tessels will compete on the new Kawasaki Ninja ZX-10RR, just like his WorldSBK counterparts Jonathan Rea and Tom Sykes.

“I’m so happy to have the opportunity to ride for Agro On-Benjan-Kawasaki in 2017!” exclaimed Tessels. “This season wasn’t easy, but we have a strong platform to make a massive step from in 2017. In the final races of the past season, I made a lot of progression and that gives me a lot of confidence for next year. I know the team very well and I can’t wait to start the new journey on the new ZX-10RR. I would like to thank Kawasaki and my personal sponsors for this great opportunity and I’m looking forward to the first test with my fantastic and very motivated new team.”

Team Manager of the Dutch Agro On-Benjan-Kawasaki team, Rob Vennegoor added, “We are thrilled to have signed Wayne for next year and are proud to have a Dutch rider. This season became difficult after Bryan Staring got injured, but we were still able to show real potential after his superb podium finish at the Lausitzring. Also with strong results at Donington is another fine example of our potential and also the reason why I’m confident and enthusiastic for next year. Of course we will race the new ZX-10RR. The first reports about this new Superbike from Kawasaki are very positive and we can’t wait to start preparations for 2017!”
