Roll up for the magical tour as Laguna Seca kicks off with cable car circuit of the Californian city

Round 9 of the MOTUL FIM Superbike World Championship is set to get underway at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca from the 8th-10th of July, with home hero Nicky Hayden leading the charge at the legendary venue. Before the lights go out on track however, WorldSBK is set to pay a visit to the coastal city of San Francisco for a pre-event with a difference: a tourist tour in the city’s emblematic cable cars ending in a Meet and Greet and autograph session at Marina Green.

Packed with history, the city is home to some of the USA’s most famous landmarks, not least the Golden Gate Bridge and Alcatraz prison, and the streets of the City by the Bay are lined with the world-renowned cable cars that call San Francisco home. On Wednesday 6th July, WorldSBK riders including Nicky Hayden, Tom Sykes and Chaz Davies are set to explore the Californian jewel from Union Square to Marina Green, taking in AT&T Park, the Ferry Building and lunch at Fisherman’s Wharf on a magical tourist tour.

As well as photo opportunities along the route, the event’s final stop at Marina Green will host an autograph session and Meet & Greet for fans to get even closer to the riders and get a different kind of souvenir from the superstar line-up. From 11:00 local time (GMT -7) to arrival at the Meet and Greet and autograph session at Marina Green at 13:15, WorldSBK is coming to San Francisco and wants to meet you!

Make sure you don’t miss the action on or off track for Round 9 of the 2016 calendar, from the tourist trail in San Francisco to further south near Monterey, when practice begins on 8th July at Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca as the grid prepare to tackle the legendary Corkscrew corner.
