South African to take over from Josh Hook from Donington

South African Sheridan Morais is set to make a return to the WorldSBK paddock from Round 7 of the 2016 Championship, soon to take place at Donington Park in the UK. The experienced South African rider moves from stints in World Endurance and MotoAmerica to take the Grillini seat, occupied during the first half of the season by Australian Josh Hook, who scored his first points last time out in Sepang.

Morais, who has previously raced with the team in 2014, will race a Kawasaki ZX-10R for Grillini alongside his other commitments throughout the 2016 season and is excited to be back in the WorldSBK paddock once again.

"I'm very happy to be back in WorldSBK," said Morais. "2015 and 2016 have been very good years for me and I am excited to join Team Grillini again and am very thankful to Andrea Grillini for allowing and supporting this great opportunity."

"I am very happy with the arrival of Sheridan," added Andrea Grillini. "From 2014 we have remained in contact and I finally managed to bring him back to WorldSBK. I also want to thank Josh Hook for his work done with the team, and wish him luck for the future."

Morais will be on track for the first time this season at Donington Park in England for Round 7 as WorldSBK passes the halfway mark for 2016, with practice beginning on 27th May at the Derbyshire venue.
