The Frenchman needs more time to recover

Pata Yamaha Official STK1000 Team's Florian Marino will not take part in this weekend's FIM Superstock 1000 Cup at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours, after being declared unfit by the attending medical director. Lucas Mahias will replace Marino in France while he continues his recovery.

The young Frenchman was eager to return to competition at his home race having worked tirelessly to recover from the injuries sustained at Assen's second round, but championship officials and the circuit medical team believe a longer rehabilitation period is still required.

"I'm disappointed and frustrated by this decision," Marino said. "I worked incredibly hard over the past five months to race again. I wanted to be back for my home race, but it did not happen and I understand the decision. I am also disappointed for my team and for Yamaha. They have supported me through this time, I'm determined more than ever to resume my work and I will continue working towards my comeback. I feel stronger every day and my speed on the bike is improving with every outing. I hope to race again soon. "

Mahias will take to the track with the Pata Yamaha Official Stock Team at 9:15am for the Free Practice session of the Fassi French Round.
