Krummenacher Looking Ahead to Sepang

Previous Championship Leader wasn’t allowed to take the restart in Imola

Kawasaki Puccetti Racing rider Randy Krummenacher was shown the orange and black flag after the first start of the WorldSSP race at the Autodromo Internazionale Enzo e Dino Ferrari in Imola and failed to stop immediately. Thereafter, a crash on track for another rider saw the Red Flag shown and a restarted race of 11 laps was scheduled.

Krummenacher was not allowed to take the restart, resulting in an automatic loss of points for the Swiss rookie on a weekend that saw key title rivals Jules Cluzel and Kenan Sofuoglu fight for the win. The Championship lead has now been taken by Krummenacher’s teammate Sofuoglu.

“At the end of the weekend there’s not much to say,” lamented the Puccetti rider. “That’s racing, these things can happen sometimes. I respect the decision of Race Direction. Imola is ticked off now and I’m looking ahead to the next race in Malaysia. Today I had a great feeling on track so that’s a positive I can take with me to Sepang.”

Round 6 will take place at Sepang International Circuit on the 13th to 15th of May as WorldSBK and WorldSSP prepare for the very different Malaysian track.
