The new dawn of WorldSBK sees Rea’s title defense begin in stunning style

The first Race weekend of the season is the first chance the grid get to answer the questions posed by the off-season, and the first Round of 2016 did not disappoint. Jonathan Rea kicked off his bid to win back-to-back titles with an incredible double win – and Michael van der Mark came out the block fighting as a new regular podium contender as the racing reached incredible levels.

Another new contender debuted in WorldSSP too, as Randy Krummenacher became only the sixth rider in history to win his first Race.
