Czech rider automatically qualifies his Milwaukee BMW for second Superpole session

For the second time this season, GP winner Karel Abraham has gained automatic entry to Tissot-Superpole 2 after setting the ninth fastest time on Friday at Donington Park. With Round 7 at the UK track being the Milwaukee team’s home round, their Friday performance and automatic chance to fight for the top grid positions is a positive start to the weekend, proving a big step forward on home turf.

“It’s definitely a big step forward,” said Abraham. “We’ve been experiencing some troubles in the past races and we’ve been unable to go through to Superpole 2, but now we are straight in after Friday. The bike is working well and hopefully we can make a few adjustments for tomorrow and be even better.

“We still have a couple of things we want to change on the bike so we’ll see if it can work in FP3. If not we’ll go back to the setup we’ve had this afternoon and if yes we’ll keep it for Superpole. Then we’ll just try to do our best.”

In the one off schedule for Round 7 at Donington, Tissot-Superpole 1 begins at 11:15 local time (GMT +1), before Superpole 2 at 11:40 ahead of Race 1 at 15:00.
