Medical checks give the OK for the Spaniard to return to the track.

Despite suffering a crash at Imola last time out, David Salom (Team Pedercini) will be on the grid for this weekend’s WorldSBK races after being cleared by the medical team yesterday.

For Salom, his Imola crash was a huge disappointment for both him and the entire Pedercini Team after an impressive start to the weekend saw the 2014 EVO winner mixing it well inside the top ten in a number of sessions on his Kawasaki.

Last year at Donington Salom finished both races in 10th position and is looking forward to another pair of strong races at the 2.5 mile Leicestershire circuit.

“Unfortunately we had a technical problem which caused me to crash heavily. Thankfully nothing was broken although my elbow is quite badly bruised. This is the second big crash of the year after what happened in Australia in qualifying and it’s a big shame as we were running strong all weekend. I’m determined to ride here and the medical staff passed me fit so it’s business as usual.”
