Crash.net: ‘Hayden continues WorldSBK talks’

Nicky Hayden has clarified his situation on a potential switch to the WorldSBK paddock for 2016, repeating that talks are ongoing. The MotoGP World Champion of 2006 chooses not to mention any team in particular but, as Crash.net reports, the American is linked with a move to the Pata Honda World Superbike Team alongside Michael van der Mark.

“50/50, I guess,” says Hayden of a possible WorldSBK move, having been the AMA Superbike Champion in 2002. “I’ve said all along that I’m talking to teams in World Superbike and that’s no secret.

“I like Superbike. I’ve always been a fan of Superbike racing. When Scott Russell (1993 World Champion) was there, I liked watching him as a kid. There was a time in America when people followed it more than GPs. There wasn’t a GP in America and so World Superbike at Laguna Seca was a big event, with lots of American riders.”
