Baiocco and Canepa all-set for Jerez.

Matteo Baiocco and Niccolo Canepa are more than keen to get back to action as the eni FIM Superbike World Championship resumes in Jerez this weekend.

“Finally we’re getting back to work after a really long break during which I never stopped training,” begins Baiocco who, ahead of his days in World Superbike, was double CIV Superbike Champion in 2011 and 2012. “I’m aiming to be able to finish this season - which has been positive for me so far - on a high, fighting for a good position in the overall standings.”

Canepa’s target since rejoining Althea has been to finish all races in the top ten.

“After the long summer holiday, I can’t wait to get back on my Ducati Panigale R,” adds the second Italian. “I want to score a good result, perhaps even fighting for a top five finish. I’m expecting a great weekend and am definitely ready for it.”

2015 marks the third time Jerez has been on the WorldSBK calendar in the modern era; it returned in 2013, the weekend which marked Tom Sykes’ title win.
