Ten Kate: "Van der Mark has just been perfect so far"

The Pata Honda team manager sings the praises of his fellow Dutchman.

Ronald Ten Kate is enjoying this year’s World Supersport Championship as one of his two riders, Michael van der Mark, is currently on top of the standings with a comfortable 53 point lead over MV Agusta Reparto Corse’s Jules Cluzel. The Dutch team manager is also happy by the performance shown by the other Pata Honda rider Lorenzo Zanetti, who scored his maiden WSS at Imola last May and currently sits fourth in the title race:

“It’s been an exciting season so far, both riders have stepped up their game compared to last year when they faced their rookie season” said Ronald Ten Kate. “It took a bit of time for Lorenzo to adapt to the new bike but he is fourth in the championship at the moment, which is a good position. He had a DNF so could have been a little bit further up. Michael is a story by himself, he has made a massive step forward and apart from the crash in the opening race at Phillip Island he has just been perfect. He has quite a significant lead in the championship and he has finished always either first or second so far. This is why I would have loved not to have this summer break, because with such strong form you would have loved to see him keep going and going.”
