The Dutch Team Manager speaks of the future of van der Mark.

Pata Honda Team Manager Ronald Ten Kate recently spoke recently about a possible future in the eni FIM Superbike World Championship for current WSS Dutch star Michael van der Mark, during a press conference held at the Assen TT Circuit last week. Given the response by the Dutch media about his words, Ten Kate had the chance to  further clarify his point of view with WorldSBK.com.

"During the press conference at Assen" said Ronald Ten Kate "I was asked what the future of Michael would be. I said his future might be in World Superbike sooner rather than later. So hopefully he will join  this Championship with us, and hopefully starting with the next season. 2014 has just started, so let's wait and see what this one brings."

"I think he can do well on bigger bike" he added "much better than on a Supersport machine. He already show his abilities last year on a 1000cc bike at the Suzuka 8 Hour. I think my words were taken too enthusiastically, basically by the Dutch press that was here. It is normal, though, because we have been waiting for a Dutch rider who can fight for race wins in World Superbike."
