Sofuoglu out to win at second round venue

The Turkish rider is aiming for his first win at Motorland Aragon in the WSS class.

The three time world champion, most recently on a Kawasaki Ninja ZX-6R in 2012, fought all the way last season and took five, of his career record 26, wins on the way to second place overall. This year, after a crash and no score at the previous and much shortened first race in Australia, Kenan has many reasons to go for a maximum points score, starting with a strong first practice session on Friday.

Sofuoglu has not tested on his racebike since the last race weekend but as always he has been keeping fit and sharp by riding Supermotard at his own track in his native Turkey.

Kenan Sofuoglu: “I have been riding at my track to be ready for the Aragon race and unfortunately I lost a lot of points and a potential win in the first race in Australia. That is behind us now so I am looking forward. I think I am fast at Aragon but at this track I have had a lot of bad luck in the past. In 2014 I hope that Aragon provides me with my first podium, my first win at Aragon, and my first win of the season. My bike is good this year again and it makes me feel very confident. My team has even more experience this time and if we look to Phillip Island we were very strong but in the race, when another bike lost some oil, that was not our doing. In the short five-lap race we had some bad luck, but I think we are stronger than last year, my pace is stronger than last year and I am hoping that with some good fortune we can go for many race wins and the title itself.”
