The Team Manager of the Hero EBR squad is looking forward to the final part of the season.

Team Hero EBR manager Giulio Bardi has summarised the outcome of first the two thirds of the 2014 eni FIM Superbike World Championship from the team’s point of view. The factory WSBK effort of the American brand has so far been towards the back of the field, but despite the massive challenge – new bike, new squad, new project as well as new riders to the series - the team has made steps forward and is now looking to finish the season on a high note.

“We knew it was going to be a challenge, the cream of the crop is here” said Giulio Bardi. “We had a late start to the season but the bike is starting to progress now. We made a few steps forward but the other teams have also improved. We missed progressing to Tissot-Superpole in Laguna Seca by just 14 thousandths of a second and that was really hard to accept. It would have been a good reward for our efforts.”

With data available from the previous experience in the AMA national series, the team made significant steps forward in their home round at Laguna Seca: “Laguna was the only track where we had some data from previous years and it surely helped, plus it was the home track for both riders and the only one on the calendar where they had raced before. This is a learning year for us and our aim is to constantly grow as a team as well as a company. Our target for the final part of the year is to try and fight for the top 15 on a regular basis and keep progressing.”

Bardi is confident that the project will continue next year: “Surely EBR will have a last word about 2015 but I’m confident we will continue.”
