The Italian rider claimed a well deserved trophy at Jerez today.

A year ago Marco Faccani was chosen by the FMI (Italian Motorcycling Federation) to race in their colours in the FIM Europe Superstock 600 Championship. The now 20 year old from Ravenna joined the San Carlo Team Italia Kawasaki to contest his first season at international level.

His team’s high expectations have been rewarded, as the tall Italian rider took the whole series by storm.

Beginning with a dominant victory at the season opener at Aragon, Faccani rode to a safe tenth place in tricky conditions at Assen. He was then back on the top step of the podium in his home round at Imola, achieving the first of three consecutive wins before the summer break.

The four wins achieved in the first five rounds all came in dominant fashion, with Faccani able to lead almost every lap and always managing to pull comfortably away from the rest of the field.

Heading into the Spanish Round with a solid 34 point lead, Faccani did not lose his focus and thanks to another great performance in today’s penultimate round of the season he managed to clinch a well deserved STK600 title under the Andalusian sky after finishing again a lonely winner.

Marco Faccani is now evaluating different options to continue his career and take on the next challenges that the world of motorcycle racing has in store for him.
