The Russian squad embarks on a new World Supersport campaign with higher goals and fresh motivation

DMC Racing Team will continue its involvement in World Supersport with a new name DMC Panavto-Yamaha and some interesting changes, starting from the new bikes the squad will be using. Scotsman Kev Coghlan and Russian Alexey Ivanov will race on-board Yamaha YZF-R6 that will be taken to a new level of performance by Marcus Eschenbacher, former Yamaha World Superbike engineer and - up to last year – Eugene Laverty’s Crew Chief in the Aprilia Racing Team, who will take care of providing the team with the some of most competitive engines available.

The cooperation between DMC Panavto-Yamaha and Eschembacher is a huge boost of confidence for the Russian team and its riders heading into the new season with new and higher goals.

Vladimir V. Ivanov, Head of Team DMC Panavto-Yamaha said: “We are pleased to announce our collaboration with Panavto company, that has become the main sponsor of the team. We would like to thank Kawasaki for our season together, but our current interests at the moment are pushing us to new challenges and new bikes. We’ve started our collaboration with Panavto some time ago and now it goes even to a higher level. We hope to bring some happy moments to our fans!”

Sergey Glagolev, Team Manager: “No one has any doubt about the fact that Yamaha is very competitive bike. Among other I’m glad we will be working with Marcus Eschembacher this year. We are really happy about the pre-season tests and looking for consistently strong results in World Supersport. Kev knows Yamaha, although this one is a new model for him and quite different from the bike he used to ride last year. Alex, from his side, has never ridden a Yamaha on the track but I am sure that with his talent and incredible consistency he will be able to achive some good results”.

Kev Coghlan: “I am very pleased to be working for DMC for another season, our third year together and another new experience. So we will have to learn how to take the most from this new bike. First thing will be getting up to speed on the bike as I haven’t been riding since November. I hope that by the time we head off to Australia we will already have set some respectable lap times.”

Alexey Ivanov: “It is very interesting for me to try the Yamaha on the track. This bike has an electronic throttle that helps with engine braking and this fact is very important in the race. Of course I need to get used to it as Yamaha is another bike, with short wheelbase etc. But I am thinking positively and really looking forward to the first results.”
