Fourteen hour track time available to the WSBK riders.

The official DWO test at Portimao’s Autodromo Internacional do Algarve is about to start today, with an overall 14 hour track time available to the WSBK riders over the course of the two days. The factory riders of Kawasaki, Aprilia and Ducati will be out on their respective machines to continue the development before a well deserved break in order to be ready for the final four rounds of the season, the first of which to take place at Jerez de la Frontera on September 7-9.

Pata Honda duo of Jonathan Rea and Leon Haslam will sit out the test as both riders are currently on their way to Japan to take part in this year’s Suzuka 8 Hour, along with their WSS teammates Michael van der Mark and Lorenzo Zanetti.

The EVO class will be represented by points leader David Salom (Kawasaki Racing Team), Frenchman Jeremy Guarnoni (MRS Kawasaki) and Italian Alessandro Andreozzi (Team Pedercini Kawasaki).

Claudio Corti (MV Agusta Reparto Corse) will be checked by the circuit medical officer prior to the first session, as the Italian rider is still recovering from the injury sustained on this very track during the eighth round of the season.

Today’s first session will start at 11:00 local time.
